The Greene County varsity volleyball team lost Tuesday to Roland-Story in Story City by scores of 18-25, 21-25, 16-25.
“Our team deserves credit for never giving up,” said Ram coach Donna Carhill. “R-S was tenacious on defense and had a couple of offensive players that gave us some trouble. We pressed them multiple times in each game, but just came up short.”
Nadia Fisher served 10 of 11 with 1 ace. She had eight kills and 16 digs. Hannah Stein served 15 of 15. Hanna Promes served seven of seven with two aces and had 29 assists.
Megan Durbin had 16 kills and Kenna Marquardt had 16 digs.
The Rams are 2-5 in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference and 9-20 overall. They finally return to their home court Oct. 13 to host North Polk (Alleman). The Rams have played their last eight competitions on the road.
